Back into the Studio

We went into the "studio" last weekend in Austin with Chris Hawkes (owner of One Road Studio) to record some original tunes and another. We had a blast last weekend watching our songs and lyrics come to life. Chris added guitar and the drummer will add his part tomorrow.....and then comes the bass and electric guitar and possibly the FIDDLE...oh ya, I mean we are a country duo. So we are going back this weekend to record FINAL VOCALS.....It's kinda nerve-wracking in the process...making sure we don't lose our voices and stay healthy but definately worth it.

With this "demo" we are going to post the songs to our myspace page to start getting recognition with our sound and such and then we'd like to form a small band to start gigging with. We currently have 2 shows in the works for May if we have band members to perform with. So we'll do some originals and mostly covers. We love reguests so if you'd like to hear us sing something specific please don't hesitate to ask.

Single thoughts

Interesting thoughts from being Single:

A: You can write songs about X's and not get in trouble for them. They are actually supported.

B: Each new date, if eventful enough provides for a great story and most of the time nicknames for that date.

C: A dog helps you get through the in between relationships times.

D: Valentines will either suck or become complicated really quick.

E: What? cheap flights to NYC this weekend....BOOOKED....without a second thought.

Still a DUET

Well we made a good run at the tryouts. Dad and Keith stood in line at 5:30 in the c-c-c-c-c-c-c cold and we can't even think of a good enough way to pay them back.

We also ran into a couple of friends that we made last time we were there.... These boys made it to the second round so be on the lookout at the end of February when the show airs to see them and vote for them. (The KARG Boys)


We also got a pic with the host of the show ROSS....what a cutie.

We even found some twin friends, who we call E's....we wish them luck during the show also.

All in all this was a great trip and we'd just like to thank all our family and friends who came along to support us and those of you who did back home here in Texas. We love you all!

DUETS

Nashville bound for DUETS tryouts...

We are headed to Nashville this weekend to tryout for the CMT show "Can You DUET?" We have friends and family traveling with us for support and are soooo excited to see what we make of it.

Wish us luck.....Either way we plan on recording some music in Austin really soon.

Open Mic Night

We recently hosted an Open Mic Night at the casa....and were so thankful some people showed up. Gil Solano came into town and played guitar for us while Lisa Apple played piano and sang. Pretty cool we have such talented friends.

OUR NEW HOME...promise this time:)

So I know we teased you before with finding a new home but it's for real this time.....We are going to be new renters . It's perfect for us and as my mom would say, please excuse the mess in the pictures.

Immediately we knew it was the house for us when we walked up to an A&M mailbox cover:). It's got a nice backyard for the doggies and covered porch in the back for them to lay under.

The inside is precious. It has a living/dining room combo when you first walk in that leads back to the kitchen and another "living" area. So that's where our guests will stay and where we will watch movies. My room has a little side room that connects to it where we'll put our music stuff probably. Needless to say we are very excited to move in and will be looking forward to doing so the first week of December YAY....come and visit us.
